The road in the market area was damaged by the earthquake, Bhotekoshi landslide and Barkhe disaster
The market area of the Tatopani border connecting China is currently being worked on for black paper. Kumar Shrestha, Chairman of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, said that after 28 years, the budget of the road division office is going to be a black paper. "The road in the market area was damaged due to the earthquake, Bhotekoshi flood and Barkhe disaster," he said. The road here, which was blacked in 2054, was repaired but could not be blacked.
After the earthquake of 2072, the Bhotekoshi flood in 2073 and subsequent landslides, the roads were in a state of disrepair along with the houses that had become ruins. Earlier, anyone approaching the international border would be surprised to see damaged houses and deserted, bustling markets and busy work everywhere. That situation has now changed.
There is a market in Liping after the opening of the border, while there is a market in Zhangmmu. Work is going on from Larcha Bridge to Tatopani Dhara Koplang and Kodari Bazar about 2 km. Again, black paper and reconstruction work is being done in full swing. Engineer Suraj Maharjan, Information Officer, Road Division Office, Charikot, said that Ravana Construction Company and Sangam Construction are working on black paper and repair works at Bazar Veg at a cost of 15 million.
By Baisakhya Tatopani, Chaku, Ravana in Kodari and dry port area Larcha, Hindi Bazar Sangam Construction has almost completed the work for black paper. "The work of black paper has started there, with the goal of making black paper this month, the base is currently being laid here," said Engineer Maharjan.
Earlier, the Bhotekoshi rural municipality-2 Koplan of the Bahrbise-Tatopani road section (26 km) was closed due to a 15-feet flood and blocked road. Now there is maintenance and easy transportation. Construction of walls from below and other road reconstruction works are being done for around 2 crores. On the other hand, China is working on reconstruction and tunneling to create a smart city in Khasa.
Ten years ago, the then president Dr. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced a grant of 900 million Chinese currency (16 billion 200 million rupees) on 14 Chait 071 when Ramvaran Yadav visited China. It was agreed to repair not only the Kodari highway but the entire Araniko highway with this amount. But on the other hand, China has already spent about 10 billion in three phases in the name of repairing Aran, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The Chinese company China Railway (Fourth) Construction Bureau Group Company Limited (CRCC) was entrusted with the maintenance of the Kodari highway and black paper with a Chinese subsidy of 10 billion. There is no information about how, how much, where the work was done by the Chinese contractor in the grant.
