The construction of the dam in the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project of National Pride happens at a rapid pace after the monsoons. But this work seems slow in winter. Last year's experience is that when the work is stopped due to flooding in Sunkoshi, the work that is being done at speed does not progress.

There is no work from June to October due to the construction and demolition of structures that have been sloped by floods. As the dam construction work under the project is slow, a team including Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has conducted on-site monitoring on Sunday and warned the construction company to terminate the contract if the work is not accelerated. Not only that, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also warned that the government may break the diversion contract in an event in Janakpur on Sunday afternoon.

Although 45 percent of the contract period for dam construction and power generation house has been completed, the progress has not risen above 7 percent . Minister Khadka suggested the construction company to increase the speed even though there is some room for hope when looking at the current work at the dam construction site of the project rather than the briefing at the ministry level.

Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion: Fast in monsoon, slow in winter The team is of the opinion that the mobilization amount of around 600 million rupees has been drawn from the contractor company by creating a mindset to break the contract and currently the work schedule has increased a bit and hope is not lost. During this period, the progress of dam construction should be above 30%, according to the technical side.

Patel-Raman JV has agreed to complete the construction of the dam in Sunkoshi River in 4 years and 7 months and started the work in January 2079. There is a complaint that five hundred and three cubic meters of slope work should be done daily in order to complete the work within the specified time.

Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion: Fast in monsoon, slow in winter But the construction company has claimed that 350 cubic meters of underground slope is happening daily. Raman Mahatto of the construction company Raman Construction complained to the minister about the delay in the work due to projects such as withdrawing the mobilization funds and delaying the money because it was not enough.

Patel-Raman JV has signed a contract for the construction of the dam at a cost of 14 billion seven crore 59 lakh rupees. About 30 meters high on Sunkoshi River and  158 meters  After the construction of the long dam, it will be discharged into the Marin River at Kamalamai Municipality-2 Kusumtar through a 13.3 km long tunnel. From there, 31.07 megawatts of electricity will be produced by drawing water from a head of 66.29 meters. The main objective of the

Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion: Fast in monsoon, slow in winter project is to provide irrigation facilities to 122,000 hectares in Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha districts of Terai along with electricity generation.
