The Gandaki state government has made it mandatory for vehicles providing ride-sharing services to have signs and logos written 'RS' or 'SD'. According to the state's 'Ride Sharing (Regulation and Management) Regulations, 2082', a digital board or sign must be placed on the vehicle so as to reveal the clear identity of the service provider. Transport businessmen have been protesting and protesting demanding the cancellation of this regulation.

There is a provision to keep a sign in rule 22 of the regulation published in the gazette after being passed by the Gandaki State Council of Ministers . According to Schedule 7, it is mentioned that the two-wheeler used to provide such service should have a 10 cm circular sign or logo written in red color on a black background with 'RS'. It is said that the logo should be 6 cm high and 1 cm thick. Ride sharing is defined as the act of transporting passengers through two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles using an online system.

Similarly, there is a provision that the vehicle used in the self-drive service must have the same color, height and thickness as the logo written 'SD' clearly visible. The provincial government expects that this will help to differentiate service types and bring transparency in regulation. In the regulations, self-drive service is defined as 'two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicle rental for a specified service fee so that the customer with a local or internationally recognized driver's license drives the vehicle himself'. .

Even though Gandaki Province has become the first province to legally recognize ride-sharing, transport businessmen have objected to some provisions of the regulation. They demand that section 2 (h) of the 2082 regulation should be repealed immediately. In this, private vehicles with red plates are also defined under ride-sharing vehicles, and they say that there should be a difference between doing business and private use . The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management of the Gandaki State Government said that it has also taken the suggestions of businessmen while making the regulations.
