In the budget statement presented by the federal government in the House of Representatives on Thursday for the next financial year 2082/083, the budget figures for most of the development projects operating under the Far West Province were not included. When the government announced the budget of 19 trillion 64 billion 11 million, the name of the new project was not found in Far West.
In that, most of the old plans have been continued. That too without mentioning the budget amount .
The much awaited project of the far west, the Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences established in Geta, Kailali, has not been mentioned in the budget statement. With reference to GETA, it is mentioned that it will be put into operation in the next financial year without mentioning the amount.
Similarly, construction of the long-awaited Khutiya-Dipayal expressway connecting the hilly districts of Savik Seti zone in the far west with Terai Dhangadhi is also another priority project of this province . Even though the sentence "Budget has been allocated" is kept in the said project, there is no figure of the amount.
After completing a detailed study of the Attaria-Khodpe-Darchula road section, it is said that the work of upgrading it to a dedicated double lane will be started . But the number of the budget is not mentioned . It is mentioned that the necessary budget has been allocated for the upgradation of the Brahmadev-Jhulaghat-Tusarpani road section and the opening of the Tusarpani-Tinkar section under the Mahakali Corridor.
Although it is said that the work of upgrading the Gaddachouki-Attaria section of the East-West Highway will be started in the next financial year, the budget figure is not mentioned . According to the Mahendranagar road division office, about four billion budget will be required for the construction of that section.
Although it is mentioned in the budget statement to complete the DPR of the Pancheshwar project and increase the construction work, the Pancheshwar multi-purpose project has been stalled for 20 years due to the failure to reach an agreement on the DPR between Nepal and India. The sentence that the construction of Chainpur Seti hydropower project will be started is also mentioned in the statement.
The Karnali multi-purpose project will also be studied in detail, similarly, the construction of a 400 KV international transmission line from Dodhara to Bareilly in India, and the 220 KV international transmission from Chamelia in Darchula to JolGB in India will be studied and started. Within the next three years, it is said that Ranijamara Kularia Irrigation Project and Mahakali Project will be completed and a detailed study will be conducted to construct an airport in Dadeldhura.
Budget allocation for the construction of a medical college in Dadeldhura, budget allocation for the construction of Phapla Cricket Stadium in Kailali, Dhangadhi in Kailali, a modern industrial zone will be established in Daiji in Kanchanpur through the Investment Board, dry port construction work will be increased in Dodhara Chandni in Kanchanpur, tourism infrastructure construction in Shuklaphanta National Park and Khaptad National Park, footpaths in Ramaroshan, Badimalika and Budhinanda. Even though it is said to be built, the statement did not mention the amount. Pushkar Ojha, Senior Vice President of Kailali Industry and Commerce Association, says that there is doubt about priority and implementation as in the past due to the fact that the number of funds is not mentioned in the big projects of this province.
