The government has increased the customs duty rate on the import of alcohol, beer, tobacco and cigarettes. Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, while bringing the budget for the next financial year, said that the customs rate has been increased.
"I have increased the customs duty rate on the import of alcohol, beer, tobacco and cigarettes," he said.
He also said that some rates of customs duty have been adjusted. "I have made a general increase in the existing excise duty rate," he said, "I have expanded the scope of health risk tax."
