In the next fiscal year (from July 1) of the Ministry of Urban Development, government operations are going to be paperless. Gopal Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, informed that the Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) system will be used from July 1st.

"After the full implementation of this system, government activities under the ministry will be paperless and unnecessary paperwork will be removed," Sigdel said.

On Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has instructed to implement the file tapping system and integrated office management system to make the ministry's service flow smooth and agile.

The secretary of the ministry, Sigdel, said that while GIOMS is partially implemented now, it will be fully implemented from July 1st. "We are going to implement the Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) to make government operations paperless," he said, "Now, inter-ministerial files and letters, file exchanges between ministries and departments will be paperless." Everything will be digitized.'

After this system is implemented, the trend of working in the backdate and getting files stuck will end. A file trapping system will also be implemented to get information about which file has been in which agency of the ministry for how long.

The Ministry of Urban Development is going to launch an integrated office management system to implement the concept of paperless government through GIOMS system in a simple, easy, fast, quick, frugal, transparent and effective way.

This system will be used by government agencies to issue orders and comment decisions electronically, register letters and invoices, approve leave and work, and manage records.
