The NEPSE index, which measures stock trading, rose by 19.04 points on Thursday. It has increased by 0.71 percent to 2,688.55 points.
Even though NEPSE increased on Thursday compared to Wednesday, the transaction volume decreased. On Wednesday, the NEPSE index fell by 7.94 points. Shares worth 9.82 billion rupees were traded on Thursday. Shares worth 10.69 billion 86 million rupees were traded on Wednesday. Share prices of 104 companies rose on Thursday, 142 companies fell and one company remained stable. 2 crore 23 lakh 96 thousand 329 shares were bought and sold out of 86 thousand 685 share transactions.
Total market capitalization has increased by 31 billion 688 million rupees with the increase of NEPSE. The total market capitalization which was Rs 44 trillion 42 billion 05 crore last Wednesday has remained at Rs 44 trillion 73 billion 73 crore on Thursday. During that period, NEPSE increased by 31 billion 68 million rupees.
Although the overall NEPSE index has increased, the indices of most subgroups have decreased. Only the banking, microfinance, collective investment fund and non-life insurance sub-groups grew. Banking 51.35, microfinance 122.49, collective investment fund 0.01 and non-life insurance increased by 0.48 points. Among the declining subgroups were development banks, hotels and tourism, hydropower, trade, life insurance, manufacturing and processing. Development Bank 13.04, Hotel & Tourism 185.11, Hydropower 38.54, Trade 35.22, Life Insurance 20.25 and Manufacturing & Processing sub-group decreased by 25.47 points.
Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals share price increased by 10 percent and circuit broke. NIC Asia Bank's share price increased by 7.80%, Forward Microfinance's 7.15%, Global IME Bank's 6.12%, Kumari Bank's 6.06%.
