The Nepal Telecommunication Authority has issued a notice to 73 companies providing internet services to file the arrears under the Royalty and Rural Telecommunication Development Fund within 15 days.

In the notice published recently by the regulatory authority, Broadband Nepal, Broadlink Network, Classic Tech, Dis Media Network, Mercantile Communications, Websurfer Nepal and other service providers have been asked to pay the outstanding amount. It is mentioned in the notice that the service providers have not submitted the audit report, royalty and rural telecommunication fund amount to the Nepal government and authorities for the past few years .

According to the authority, even after giving information through correspondence, e-mail and publication of notices, those service providers have not filed the details and the remaining outstanding amount . "Within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice, all the concerned are informed through this notice to pay the outstanding amount along with the details and documents as per the rules and collect the information to the authority," the notice said.

The authority has also warned that if the necessary documents and funds are not submitted within the specified period, action will be taken according to the Telecommunications Act, 2053.
