For the restructuring of the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), the government has appointed Prof. Dr. A three-member high-level restructuring suggestion committee has been formed under the coordination of Govindaraj Pokharel.

Handing over the letter to the officials of the high-level committee, Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ramnath Adhikari has expressed the expectation that the high-level committee will submit a suitable proposal to reform NARC in a timely manner. committee has been given a 90-day mandate. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, a high-level committee has been formed in the context that the work of the council is not satisfactory due to various problems seen in the current structure of NARC.
Previous studies have also suggested that Narc needs to be restructured to be effective. The recently held meeting of the Council of Ministers approved the proposal prepared by the Ministry based on the same suggestion.
High-level committee's scope of work includes the past achievements and challenges of NARC, reviewing legal documents and reports including laws, rules, policies, studying related good practices in other countries, transforming NARC in a timely manner in accordance with the spirit and spirit of federalism, and proposing a strategy to ensure the long-term involvement of scientists.
