Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari has said that the demand of industrialists is a national issue. "The demands of industrialists and businessmen are reasonable," Minister Bhandari said, "We are serious about meeting the demands." He said that the government has given priority to export trade promotion.
"We have prepared an integrated business strategy, it is soon going to the level of implementation," Minister Bhandari said. He said that the capital market has slowed down due to earthquake, covid and natural disasters and the government is implementing the then implementable suggestions out of the '400 suggestions' to speed up the economic growth rate.
"The economic growth rate will not increase until the investment and priority of the state increases," Minister Bhandari said. Discussing tea branding, export policy and the possibility of earning income from IT and AI technology, he said that the government is going to bring a law to export not only goods, but also 'ideas'.
He said that a new modality is going to be created to operate sick industries including jute mills. He said that the government is preparing to operate special economic zones (SEZ) and industrial parks and sick industries through PPP model. "ADB has given DD for four industries, the government is also ready for other sick industries," Minister Bhandari said.
Former Chief Minister of Koshi Uddhav Thapa is of the opinion that it is wrong to see the private sector only as a means of paying taxes and should be made a partner in nation building. Physical Development Minister of the province, Bhupendra Rai emphasized that legal complexity has become the main obstacle in the development of the industrial sector and laws should be made only after understanding the intentions of industrialists.
Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar said that with the government remaining stable, confidence in industry has increased and there is great potential in agriculture as well. ``Kibi worth 7 crores has been exported, this is a sign of possibility,'' he said.
