The decline of the stock market did not stop even on Thursday. NEPSE, which has been falling continuously in the previous four trading days, followed the same trend on the last day of weekly trading. On that day, NEPSE index decreased by 8.41 points.

Compared to the previous day, NEPSE has decreased by 0.32 percent to 2,611.85 points. According to last Thursday, NEPSE decreased by 12.04, Sunday 12.53, Tuesday 14.87 and Wednesday 13.96 points.

On Thursday, a total of 82 companies' share prices increased, 164 companies' prices decreased, and one company's price remained stable. A total of 78 thousand 493 shares have been traded worth 7 billion 833 million 48 thousand rupees. NEPSE data shows that 1 crore 74 lakh 23 thousand 943 shares were bought and sold on that day.

Out of the total 13 sub-groups that traded on that day, hotels and tourism, business and collective investment funds only increased. 322.82% of hotel and tourism, 30.84% of trade and 0.05 percent of collective investment fund, NEPSE said.

On Thursday, indices of sub-groups including development bank, microfinance, hydropower, non-life insurance, and life insurance fell. On that day, the index of development bank sub-group decreased by 116.86 points, hydropower by 22.60 points, non-life insurance by 49.95 points, life insurance by 55.76 points and others by 26.21 points, according to NEPSE. As the NEPSE continues to decline, there has been a contraction in the size of the stock market (total market capitalization). The total market capitalization of NEPSE has decreased by 1 trillion 2 billion 865 million rupees in five trading days. The total market capitalization, which was 44 trillion 47 billion 57 billion rupees last Wednesday, has remained at 43 trillion 44 billion 70 billion rupees on Thursday.

It appears that the value of investors' property has decreased by 1 trillion 2 billion 865 million rupees in five trading days. Total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. A decrease in capitalization means a decrease in the market value of the listed shares. On this basis, the decrease in capitalization is analyzed as a decrease in the value of the investor's property.
