Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari has said that the demand of industrialists and businessmen is a national issue. "The demands of industrialists and businessmen are reasonable", he said, "We are seriously committed to meeting the demands."

Inaugurating the 68th Annual General Meeting of Morang Industry and Trade Association in Biratnagar on Friday, Minister Bhandari said that the government has given priority to export trade promotion. He said, "We have prepared an integrated business strategy, it will soon go to the level of implementation."

He mentioned that the capital market has slowed down due to earthquakes, covid and natural disasters and said that the government is implementing the then implementable suggestions to speed up the economic growth rate. "The economic growth rate will not increase unless the investment and priority of the state increases," he emphasized.

Discussing the branding of tea, export policy and the possibility of earning income from IT and AI technology, he said that the government is going to introduce a law that will allow the export of not only goods, but also ideas.

He said that he is going to create a new modality for operating sick industries including jute mill. He informed that the government is preparing to operate SEZ (Special Economic Zone), industrial parks and sick industries through PPP model. "ADB has given DD for four industries, the government is also ready for other sick industries," he said. In the

program, former Chief Minister of Koshi Uddhav Thapa opined that it is wrong to see the private sector only as a means of paying taxes and should be made a partner in nation building. Physical Development Minister of the province, Bhupendra Rai, said that legal complexity has become the main obstacle in the development of the industrial sector, and he opined that laws should be made only after understanding the intentions of industrialists.

Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar said that confidence in industry and business has increased as the government remains stable and there is great potential in agriculture as well. ``Kibi worth 7 crores has been exported, this is a sign of possibility,'' he said.
