In Jugal Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok, Brahmayani Hydropower Company has started the construction of 45 MW hydropower project. The company has started the tunnel construction of Brahmayani hydropower project by blasting the mouth of the tunnel on Sunday.
There is a plan to generate electricity by transporting Brahmayani water from Jugal Rural Municipality-2 Chhindang to a bi-located power house near Tembathan through a 5.5 km tunnel. The entrance road and engineering camp for the construction of the project have already been constructed. The financial management of the project construction has already been contracted by commercial banks under the leadership of Sanima Bank. The cost of the project is estimated at 9 billion rupees. According to Bharat Parajuli, president of
company, the work has been progressed with the goal of producing electricity within three years. Special circumstances arise If not, Chairman Parajuli informed that the goal is to complete the event within the specified time. The project has constructed and maintained 27 km of access roads with 4 km of new tracks.
The project has said that the management has been arranged so that the work does not stop even during summer. Arrangements have been made to transport essential machines and construction materials during the dry season. The company has built one belay bridge to reach the project site and has proposed to build three more belay bridges.
Parajuli said that the process of selecting the original contractor will be completed soon. He informed that the selection of the contractor for the construction is underway. In the presence of a team including the local administration, Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police, Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchok Kiran Thapa pressed a switch on the wall of the mouth of the tunnel and caused the blast.
