Savitri Khatri Thapa, a resident of Godavari Municipality-13 in Lalitpur, bought a silver statue from Swastik Silver Palace in Kathmandu Vishalbazar on 25th February 2081. Then she overturned the Consumer Protection Act, 2075. In sub-section 1 of section 14 of the Act, there is a provision to return the item purchased from the seller within 7 days if not satisfied. There is a provision to refund or buy another equivalent item or take the amount paid while purchasing such items. 

Feeling cheated on the weight and amount of silver, Thapa again went to the palace to return the goods on 2081 Chait 1. But Swastik Silver Palace made compensation and tamsuk below the fixed price and returned only 2225. Then Thapa reached the consumer court. 

According to Sections 50, 51 and 52 of the Act, the opposition Swastik Silver Palace Pvt. Ltd. should pay 35,700 rupees including financial loss, going to and from the salon, mental damage, and physical damage. She filed a case. The case filed in the Consumer Court on 3rd Chait 2081 was heard for the first time on Thursday. Consumer court judge Shobhakar Kharel said that the decision was made in the case related to the purchase of silver idols. "After the discussion of the case filed by Savitri Khatri Thapa, who lives in Godavari Municipality-13 of Lalitpur, it has been decided to get 20,000 compensation from the opponent Swastik Silver," said Shrestedar Kharel. 

Apart from the issue of the silver statue, there was also a case filed against Om Hospital, Grandi Hospital and Yamaha Motorcycle on Thursday. There was also a debate on these three issues. An order has been issued to understand something about the case," said Kharel. Varsha Bhandari had registered a case in the consumer court saying that Grandi City Hospital had provided poor quality services. She filed a case with a demand of 31.7 lakhs claiming that the amount of fat in the body is high and can be reduced by surgery, but the hospital did the operation but did not fully recover and caused loss by providing poor quality services. was. 

There was also a case against Om Hospital and Research Center regarding quality service. The family of Harihar Prasad Gautam of Budhanilkanth filed a case against Om Hospital. The family claims that the patient fell in the bathroom and became unable to walk due to negligence and delay in treatment at Om Hospital in Gautam. A case was filed in the consumer court against Om Hospital with a demand of Rs.

A case has been filed against a Yamaha motorcycle dealer for selling an old model motorcycle and within 6 months the battery was damaged and the motorcycle's collar was blown off. All these three issues were also debated. The court said that there is a need to understand more about Om Hospital, Grand City Hospital and Yamaha dealers. After the order is issued, it is sent for execution. Additional documents have also been ordered. After all the documents come, there will be a debate again," said Kharel. 

The consumer court has a district judge president and two members appointed by the government on the recommendation of the judicial council. Kathmandu District Court Judge Ram Prasad Sharma has been appointed as the president of the court. Justice Group Deputy Secretary Gehendraraj Regmi and Administrative Services Deputy Secretary Anandraj Pokharel are members.  After hearing the

case, the decision is upheld according to the opinion of the majority of 3 people. The government has formed a judicial structure 'Consumer Court' in favor of consumers, albeit late. On the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, a court has been constituted to settle the cases in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts on the occasion of Chait 2, 2081. After the formation of consumer court, common people have registered 6 fraud cases.
