After the availability of services from transportation to delivery, the vegetable oil industries of Parsa-Bara industrial corridor have started importing crude oil (crude oil) in containers. Since Sirsia dry port operating company Pristine Valley has started delivering the importer's crude oil from Haldia port to the industry in Nepal, crude oil has been imported in three railway racks since one month.

According to Atul Sharma, head of administration of Pristine Valley, such crude oil imported by importers from third countries arrives at Haldia port by ship. There, the crude oil stored in the storage tank is pumped into a special container made to carry such oil. Crude oil used to come in conventional containers in the past has now started coming in special containers. 

On Tuesday, for the third time, crude oil entered the port on railway racks in this way. He said that until now Sri Shivshakti Oil Industry and Annapurna Vegetable Industry of the corridor have imported crude oil in this way. 

There are 90 containers in a railway rack. One container has the capacity to carry 22 tons of oil. Sharma says that Birgunj will be brought from Haldia port within 2 days and the crude oil brought into the dry port will be delivered to the importer's industry from the next day.  "A special type of plant has been installed at Haldia Port to provide this service," said Sharma, "Pristin brings containers to Birgunj on its own train and provides delivery service from here to the industry."

Sharma says that if all the raw materials are imported by rail at once, the transportation cost of the importer will be reduced and time will also be saved. 

Soybean and sunflower oil are being exported in high quantity from Nepal to India since 6 months. Since Nepali oil is cheaper than Indian oil in India, Nepali oil is gaining market. In this situation, the Nepali oil industry is producing more for export and for that, they are also importing large quantities of raw materials. 

Yuvraj Bhattarai, information officer of the dry port customs office, says that in the past, imports were made in old-style containers through Birgunj customs point, but now crude oil is being imported through the dry port point while importing by rail. He said that three racks of crude oil imported for the first time were imported from Argentina.
