Asian Thai Foods Pvt Ltd has started noodle production from the district. After establishing an industry in Kapilvastu Municipality-6, Gobari, the production of Preeti, Two PM and Rumpam brand noodles was started. On Wednesday, the production was started with religious rituals.
This is the second unit of Asian Thai Foods operating here. Earlier, the industry was operating in Sonapur of Sunsari. The managing director of the industry, Mahesh Jaju, said that since there is a high demand for noodles in the western part of the country, transportation costs would be higher if they were brought from the factory located in the east.
'We got a good possibility of industry here,' he said, 'Now it will be easier to expand the market in the Far West region.' He said that the industry was opened here because it is adjacent to Uttar Pradesh of India and easy to reach Lucknow, and it is also easy to export to India.
The industry has been established in an area of two and a half bighas at a cost of 400 million. The industry has the capacity to produce 20 metric tons i.e. 4 lakh 50 packets of noodles in a day. Now 80 people are employed.
If the industry operates at full capacity, it is said that 250 people will be employed. It is said that chips, snacks and spices will also be produced from here after some time. Udyog's factory in Sonapur is exporting noodles to 32 countries.
