Minister Bhandari's request to industrialists to promote exports

The tenth edition of Nepal International Trade Fair 2025 has started from Thursday at Bhukritimandap in Kathmandu.

With the support of the government, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and the Trade and Export Promotion Center (TEPC), it has been launched under the auspices of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the co-organization of the Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Domestic and Small Industries. Inaugurating the

fair, Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari mentioned that the government is working for policy reforms as per the private sector and asked Nepali industrialists to increase production and productivity and promote exports.

Mentioning that the role of the private sector is incomparable in making Nepal's economy independent and prosperous, he said that the government is also making various policy reforms and facilitation efforts for industrial development, marketing of indigenous products and promotion of exports.

'We have prioritized revival of sick industries, identification of new industrial potential and creation of an investment-friendly environment . I believe that this fair will provide a suitable platform for searching for such opportunities and collaboration,' he said.

Industry Minister Bhandari said that in the policies and programs submitted to Parliament recently, industrial development and private sector promotion have been prioritized and the government is with the private sector in the country's economic development.

Federation's senior vice-president Anjan Shrestha said that the fair will contribute significantly to the promotion of the international market of Nepali products and the economic development of the country. He said that the economy of the country is still in a complicated mode and the demand in the market has not increased. "We expect the fair to play an important role in expanding business relations between domestic and foreign industrialists, attracting investment and creating jobs," he said.

Executive Director of Trade and Export Promotion Center Sharad Vikram Rana said that the capacity to export Nepalese goods should be increased. Umesh Dalmia, the central member of the federation and chairman of the fair committee, said that bilateral trade and investment opportunities will also be discussed with the business representatives of various countries at the fair, which has more than 120 stalls from Nepal, China and Bangladesh.

Federation has reached the 10th edition of this fair . In the days to come, it should be further refined and modified to brand Nepal at the international level.
