The list of applications received for the post of Chairman of the Advertising Board, the regulatory body of the advertising sector, has been published. According to the list published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, six people have applied for the post of chairman.
The Ministry of Communication had opened applications for the post of president on May 5, 2082. Among the applicants are Lakshman Humagain, Kavita Sharma, Sujan Raja Shrestha, Ashok Kumar Ghimire, Padam Raj Joshi and Anant Kant Mainali . Humagai, who contested again for the post of chairman, is the former chairman of the board. The tenure of Humagai, who was appointed in March 2077, ended last March. According to Section 14(4) of the Act, 2076, which is made to regulate
advertisements, a recommendation committee will be formed to make a recommendation to the Government of Nepal for the post of President. There will be a secretary-coordinator of the ministry, an expert member of the relevant subject appointed by the ministry and a joint secretary-member-secretary. The committee will select and recommend a suitable person from among the qualified candidates.
