Nepal Electricity Authority has postponed the white paper that was supposed to be released on Tuesday citing technical reasons. The Secretariat of the Executive Director of the Authority, Hitendradev Shakya, issued a formal notice to issue the white paper at 11:30 on Tuesday.

But the white paper was not released on Tuesday citing technical reasons. On Tuesday, the Secretariat of the Authority's Executive Director Shakya said that it has been postponed until further notice. 

Sources said that the board meeting of the Authority held on Monday under the chairmanship of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has approved the white paper.  According to a member of the board of directors of

, since the white paper had been approved on Monday, the data mentioned in it had been prepared and the program would be made public. The then executive director of the authority, Kulman Ghising, announced the achievement of three years and said that last July, 99 percent electrification was achieved across the country. But in the summary of the white paper prepared by the authority received from the Ministry of Energy, it is mentioned that electrification has reached 91.41 percent. 

Although it was mentioned that the total number of customers was 5586 thousand 37 till January 081, Ghising said that it has reached 59 lakh 35 thousand including community. The number of households that had access to electricity since the country's electrification was less than before.

That's why the board meeting instructed to reconcile it,' said the member, 'The white paper was ready to be published on Tuesday.' But the authority has postponed the program of releasing the white paper on Tuesday citing technical reasons. 

Executive director of the authority Shakya said that as per the instructions of the board, more work needs to be done on the summary of the report and it has been postponed due to lack of time. "Monday's board meeting instructed to do more work on the summary, that work has not been completed, now we will publish it soon," he said, "There is no work to be done on the report made by the authority's committee, only the summary has to be worked on." On Chait 12, the board meeting held immediately after Shakya assumed office decided to release a white paper to show the work done/done during Ghising's tenure and the current financial situation of the authority.
