The American charter plane has been 'grounded' in Kathmandu for 9 days.
This jet plane which landed at Tribhuvan International Airport on the 6th of Baisakh was hit by a tow-tractor pulling a ship of Nepal Airlines Corporation. Due to being grounded, the aircraft is losing business of charter and cargo flights worth crores of rupees.
The plane stranded at the airport is a G-5 plane of the American company Gulfstream. It is owned by the American private charter and cargo service provider Griffon Air. This is a long-haul aircraft as a VIP and business jet.
The plane was grounded when the tow-tractor hit the front part (nose) while pulling it from the reverse parking area towards Sinamangal and bringing it to the parking-way to put the lubricant used in the plane's engine. "The next day after coming to Nepal, it was scheduled to return on Baisakh 7," the source said, "The corporation was in charge of the ground handling of the plane. Due to some problems with the engine, the plane stopped here after a tractor hit the nose on the parking way and damaged it." The corporation had to remove the goods and do the repairs. But Griffon Air had sent the goods for repair . It is said that the plane will return to the US only after an engineer comes from Singapore to inspect the repairs done by the corporation's technicians.
"There is an initial estimate of at least 10 million worth of damage," the source said, "due to this incident, many charters booked from America had to be canceled." The crew member's hotel stay in Kathmandu has been extended.'
Meanwhile, the Safety Department under the Civil Aviation Authority has stated that it is investigating the incident. He has 'grounded' the operator of the tow-tractor. It is said that the authority will take another week to get the detailed report.
The captain of this plane was staying at Marriott Hotel in Naxal. After his stay will be longer, he has moved from there to Hilton. As his co-pilot has to go for training, he returned to America via Doha on Saturday by Qatar ship. In his place, another pilot is coming from America today (Monday) in the afternoon. The stewardess who came on the said plane is going to America via Istanbul on Tuesday by Turkish Air flight. 
6 employees of the American Immigration Office who came to Nepal with three Nepalis who were expelled due to lack of official documents, returned from Kathmandu on a regular flight on Monday .

The 19-seat aircraft came to Nepal via Bangladesh. There he left 10 undocumented Bengalis.
