On the last day of weekly trading, the NEPSE index rose by a few points on Thursday. Compared to the previous day, the overall NEPSE increased by 2.08 points (0.07 percent) to 2,658.02 points.
The NEPSE, which has been continuously decreasing since the last four trading days, showed a slight improvement on the last trading day of the week. The NEPSE index fell by 16.68 on Sunday, 7.75 on Monday, 9.96 on Tuesday and 32.38 on Wednesday. The overall NEPSE became positive after investors increased the shares of some companies on Thursday in a constantly declining stock market.
On that day, the share price of 83 companies increased, the price of 161 companies decreased and the price of one company remained stable. Indices of most sub-groups fell on the last trading day. According to which, the index of hotel and tourism sub-group decreased by 75.84, life insurance 42.99, development bank 41.46, non-life insurance 34.67 and finance company 20.68 points. However, NEPSE said that the index of business sub-group increased by 17.72, hydropower by 7.73 and investment by 2.81 points.
On Thursday 70 thousand 703 times of buying and selling, 7 billion 87 crore 93 lakh 81 thousand rupees were traded. A total of 1 crore 97 lakh 54 thousand 245 shares were bought and sold. On this day, the share price of Nepal Micro Insurance Company and Crest Micro Life Insurance rose the most at the rate of 9.99 percent. Similarly, the share price of Ngadi Group Power increased by 7.56 percent, Win Nepal Microfinance by 7.29 percent and Universal Power Company by 7.20 percent, according to NEPSE data.
On that day, the share price of Nepal Hydro Developers fell by 7.12, Green Development by 4.85, Corporate Development Bank by 4.20, Sindhu Development Bank by 4.19 and Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower by 3.66 percent. On the basis of turnover, Ngadi Group Power, Radhi Electricity Company, NRN Infrastructure and Development, Universal Power Company and Hydro Electricity Investment and Development Company were at the forefront.
On Thursday, shares of Ngadi Group Power 703.4 million, Radhi Electricity Company's 572.23 million, NRN Infrastructure and Development's 525.2 million, Universal Power Company's 473.3 million and Hydro Electricity Investment and Development's shares were traded worth 280.28 million, according to NEPSE.
