Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has dismissed the Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kancharam). Tamang was dismissed after Prime Minister Oli apologized but was refused.
Prime Minister Oli, through Home Minister Ramesh Ukhtar and Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, called Baluwatar to apologize to State Minister Tamang. State Minister Tamang maintained that he would not apologize to the Prime Minister as he had done nothing wrong.
Even before the dismissal on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli had sent a message through the Home Minister asking him to come to Baluwatar to apologize to State Minister Tamang. After Tamang refused that too, the Home Minister asked him to resign.
Tamang said that party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba had sent it to the government and the decision to return it would be the chairman's reply. After not resigning and not even apologizing, Oli reached the decision to dismiss.
Prime Minister Oli's anger with Tamang is due to the then Executive Director of Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising. Tamang was supporting Ghising.
About his dismissal, Tamang said, 'An hour ago (Wednesday at 5 pm) the housekeeper called and asked for his resignation.
Tamang said that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister will not stay in office forever, adding, 'I found out that I have been dismissed . It is their right to dismiss . They don't stay there all the time. It's two or four months.'
The then Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority had been giving his opinion saying that Ghising should not be removed. Tamang's bitterness increased with Energy Minister Deepak Khadka regarding the issue of Kulman. Khadka had repeatedly requested the party president Deuba to remove the state minister.
Another Minister of the Congress had advocated for Kulman and the Prime Minister was dissatisfied with the fact that Secretary Suresh Acharya had been asked for an explanation and asked Tamang to apologize once. Tamang replied that he did not do anything wrong and would not apologize to the Prime Minister.
On March 28, the Prime Minister called to discuss the budget for the next fiscal year. In the said discussion, the Prime Minister said that projects worth less than 3 crores cannot be kept. At that time, Tamang in Ramechhap 20 He raised the issue of needing plans for drinking water, roads and other projects worth lakhs of rupees. Oli was irritated by that too.
