Ncell has been listed as a data center and cloud service provider. The Department of Information Technology on Sunday listed Ncell as a data center service provider and cloud service provider. Recently, the department published a notice and instructed the service providers to be listed in accordance with Data Center and Cloud Services (Operation and Management) Directive 2081.

Ncell is the first data center and cloud service provider to be registered with the department. It is mentioned in the release that the department has directly inspected the company and studied the application and documents submitted by the company as it has been found to be following the operational standards and security set by the company. According to the

guidelines, there is a provision that the currently operating data centers and cloud service providers should be registered with the department within 6 months. The directive was implemented after the ministerial decision of Prithvisubba Gurung, Minister of Communication and Information, was approved. Ncell has  indicated before the stipulated period .  The

directive sets out rules for service providers in key areas including security, privacy and infrastructure . In accordance with the provisions of the directive that data center and cloud services should be listed separately, Ncell said that it has been listed separately for both these services.  

Ncell is currently operating a state-of-the-art Tier 3 data center in Lalitpur, Nakhkhuma that can be used by banks, government agencies and large commercial organizations. Ncell's disaster recovery data centers are operational in Pokhara and Hetauda.
