20 percent of the work of expansion of the chappal factory section from Narayan Gopalchowk under the ring road expansion has been completed. Narayanadatta Bhandari, Head of Road Division, Kathmandu, said that since the budget allocation of 25 million rupees has been allocated in the current financial year, accordingly, the work has been progressed by contracting for a distance of 700 meters. "The work has been started to extend from Maharajganj to Dhobikhola (Gopikrishna bridge)," he said, "in the first phase, according to the available budget, work has been done by contracting for a distance of 700 meters". "This section will be built on the same standard as the Koteshwar-Kalanki road has been extended by the Chinese government," he said, "where a 10-lane road with service lanes will be built." Currently, the work of making drains, constructing RCC walls, curving, retaining walls is being done, he said. It is 2.4 km from Narayangopal Chowk to Gopikrishna Bridge. The road division Kathmandu said that the work will be carried out by contract in the next year.
