Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government and the private sector are together for the economic development and prosperity of the country. At the 59th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Industry Day 2081, Prime Minister Oli said that policy reforms were made based on the suggestions of the private sector.
He said that the government has taken the suggestions of the private sector seriously and is creating an investment-friendly environment in the country by making policy reforms accordingly. "The government is fully committed to working in partnership with the private sector," he said. The development of the country is done together. We are working on that model of collaboration.'
He claims that the current government has worked for policy stability and stability. Prime Minister Oli said that there is no need to continue protesting to give correct suggestions to the government and that all three levels of government are committed to serve the people easily and simply.
Economic prosperity and development should be led by the private sector, says Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the federation. He emphasized that the private sector should be allowed to work uninterruptedly to fulfill the prosperity goal set by the government.
He said that political parties should have common views on economy, development and prosperity. The economy should not be disrupted by any dispute. It should be placed at the top. Referring to the experience of four conferences held in India, China and UAE in the last two years, foreign investors are willing to come to Nepal, he said, if meaningful efforts are made, foreign investment can be increased. President Dhakal complained that the private sector, which has created 86 percent of jobs, contributed more than 80 percent to direct-indirect revenue and invested 81 percent, is still not respected.
Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba said that the government is working for the overall economic development and prosperity of the country. She said that Nepal should work with the main objective of increasing the production, productivity and export of goods and services that have comparative advantage and competitive ability. He said that industrial development is indispensable for the economic development of the country.
Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply Damodar Bhandari said that the development of the industrial sector is the highest priority of the government. He said that cooperation between the government and the private sector is indispensable to achieve the goal of development and economic prosperity. He also said that the industry-friendly environment law has been improved.
The senior vice president of the Federation, Anjan Shrestha, opined that the government should have the private sector not only as a witness but also as a fellow traveler. He said that although the policy reforms made by the government are positive, the delay in implementation is causing a crisis in trust.
Federation has honored Panchthar, Parbat, Chitwan and Sindhuli Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the general meeting. Nepal Handicrafts Federation from the objective group, Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the Binational Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Koshi Province from the regional branches. The members of the federation who filed the highest income tax in the financial year 2079/80 were also honored.
