The High Level Economic Reforms Suggestion Commission formed under the coordination of former Secretary Rameshwar Khanal has suggested the government to repeal 15 different laws.

The Commission has suggested to the government to abolish the laws that restrict the economic freedom of citizens and businesses, increase the cost of business unnecessarily, can be misused, are unnecessary control-oriented and irrelevant in the current context . Among the laws suggested by the Commission to abolish

are the Income Tax Stamp Duty Act 2019, Black Market and Some Other Social Crimes and Punishment Act 2032, Private Forest Nationalization Act 2013, Administrative Procedures (Regulation) Act 2013, Compensation Act 2019, Birta Abolition Act 2016, Birtawal Cannot Extort Money (Bhatti Charsa, etc.) Act, 2015 .

Similarly, there are Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) Act 2052, Foreign Investment Prohibition Act 2021, Nepal Agency Act 2014, Provincial Development Plans (Implementation) Act 2013, Export (Control) Act 2013, Social Behavior Reform Act 2033, Nepali Currency Promotion Act 2014, Financial Intermediation Organization Act 2055.
