ADB's forecast of Nepal's economic growth rate is 4.4 percent

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has predicted that Nepal's economic growth rate will be 4.4 percent in the current financial year. Through the 'Asian Development Outlook 2025' published on Wednesday, ADB has predicted that the economic growth rate will improve this year compared to the last financial year. Last fiscal year, the economic growth rate of Nepal was 3.9 percent.

ADB predicts that Nepal's economic growth rate will slightly increase to 5.1 percent in the coming financial year. In the current financial year, the price increase is limited to 5.2 percent, according to ADB. It is projected to be limited to 5 percent in the coming year. ADB estimates that the expansion of the productive sector in the current fiscal year will contribute positively to economic growth.

'In the first six months of the current financial year, credit has expanded by 7.7 percent in the construction sector. The possibility of lending to the manufacturing industry is also high," said Manvarsingh Khadka, economist of ADB's Nepal Residential Mission. "It seems that the energy sector will contribute a lot to the growth of this sector."

The World Bank has projected that Nepal's economic growth rate will be 5.1 percent in the current financial year (year 2025). The report on 'Nepal Development Update: International Migration and its Impact on Nepal' published by the World Bank last week has predicted that the economic growth rate will improve this year.
