Preparations are being made to announce 'Complete Electrification Zone' by June 15 by providing electricity service to all the houses in 6 districts of Lumbini.

Nepal Electricity Authority Lumbini Province Office, Butwal said that the work of electrification is continuing in the houses without electricity and after reaching each house, the complete electrification area will be announced.

"The work of extending the line is being done by searching for the houses that have not received electricity from the 11 distribution centers under the provincial office of the authority," said Hariprasad Pandey, head of Lumbini province of the authority, "We have also notified to inform immediately if there are any houses that are yet to be electrified or missing." Preparations have been made for the announcement of the area.

The number of domestic electricity customers in these districts is 5 lakh 29 thousand. The authority estimates that the number of houses without electricity in these areas for the declaration of 'full electrification area' is around 500. Under this, at present, work is being done to supply electricity to the houses of Sitganga Municipality-11 and 9 of Arghakhanchi, Bardghat, Butwal and Kapilvastu of Nawalparasi. "Though full electrification can be announced after more than 95 percent of homes are electrified, this time it is going to be announced after reaching 100 percent of homes," said Pandey. Parasi distribution center is searching for houses without electricity. An employee of the authority said that there is a problem that the people's representatives of some municipalities in Terai do not recommend complete electrification while demanding that there should be a separate electricity system for irrigation even in villages that are completely electrified.
