A skill and job fair that communicates hope in the Far West

"I felt like I had come to a place of pilgrimage, my heart was full," this is the reaction of Congress General Minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who visited the fair two weeks ago to observe the conduct of the skill and employment fair in Dhangadhi. Where 1000 and 40 people from various local levels of Far West were taking 29 types of training.

A special tent was built to make the open stage of Dhangadhi, the venue of the fair, attractive. Chandra Bahadur Mahara, employment coordinator of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city, said that 539 women and 501 men from 39 local levels of Far West have received skill training in the fair which will start from the first week of February and end on Friday 15th of Chait. According to him, training has been conducted for eight main categories and 29 subcategories.

Not only Congress General Minister Sharma visited the fair during the training period, but everyone who came to observe the fair from different places praised the fair . Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa observed the fair and said that he was happy to see that not only skills were taught, but long-term plans were also made for it. "Seeing such a program, I will carry this message all over the country," he said. 

In partnership with various government and non-government bodies including the state self-employment fund, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city has organized a skill and job fair by conducting skill-based training in 29 auxiliary categories under eight categories from priestly training to digital marketing.  Under

art and craft designing category, fashion designing training, advanced tailoring, cultural clothing manufacturing, bamboo craft/handicraft material manufacturing training has been conducted. ``Learning skills and becoming self-employed is my dream. Lakshmi Chand Shah of Achham Sanfebagar, who has received training in making bamboo materials, said, "I have learned the skills to make bamboo baskets, baskets, vases, shoe racks, hangers and other materials from the training." automobile category, electric car, motorcycle/scooter repair training has been conducted. 27-year-old Sundar Katharia of Bhajani 7 in Kailali has taken electronic car repair training. He said that since it was the era of using EV vehicles, he chose the best training. "Now the training is basic, it would be good to get advanced training," Katharia said. 25-year-old Shankar Dhami from Krishnapur, Kanchanpur, who is studying VBS, took plumbing training. "Along with my studies, I have taken training so that I can do it on my own in the future," he said, "The scope is also good in Saharbazar." Under the

hospitality category, coffee barista, fast food/cook, waiter, receptionist/front desk training has been conducted. Similarly, under the electrical and mechanical category, there are welding, refrigeration and AC, mobile, CCTV, building electrical wiring . Subas Bohra of Bajhang Bugal Napa 8 Kapulseri, who is studying Plus Two, has taken building wiring training.

'When I was learning Korean for foreign employment, I found out that training is going to be held here . There is a good scope of building wiring towards the hill . That's why I applied. "Theoretical knowledge alone is useless, that's why I participated in skill-based training," Vipana said. Now the aspiration is to become self-employed by taking higher level training. ECD teacher training, priesthood and accounting management training were conducted under the

educational category. Bhagwati Chapagai from Dhangadhi is a post graduate in the Faculty of Education. She took ECD teacher training at the Skill and Employment Fair. "Since my educational background is also education, I was interested in Monteshwari teacher and chose that training," Bhagati said. This training gave a lot of confidence . We have been encouraged to move forward. Similarly, advanced beautician, hair cutting/styling and barber training has been conducted under the health and beauty training category.

The organizer said that the most attraction was seen in the fashion designing training under art and craft designing . Of the 50 people requested for the training, the maximum number of 630 people applied. Similarly, 587 applications were received for advanced beautician under beauty, out of which 50 people were requested. Among the 50 applicants for accounting management within the educational sector, 463 applications were received and 416 applications were received for 25 applications for advanced tailoring.

25 people were requested for coffee baristas under the field of hospitality, 375 people were requested, 72 people were requested for cultural clothing manufacturing, 220 people were requested, 218 people were set for the quota of 50 ECD teacher training within the educational sector, 124 people were set for the quota of 25 people for electric car repair for automobiles, 117 people were requested for 50 people for hair cutting styling within the beauty sector, 86 people were set for the quota of 25 people for motorcycle and scooter repair training. In some trainings, the number of applications was less than the quota . Out of the quota of 50 people in tile and marble fixtures, 34 people applied, while only 20 people applied for building painter. 31 for the waiter, 20 people participated in the painting.

After the participants of the skill and job fair received one month training, the job fair was also conducted on Thursday and Friday, according to the Deputy Metropolitan Municipality. According to Upamahanagar, the Rojgar Mela will provide an opportunity to join the employment by coordinating between the employers and the people who are looking for employment. 

Out of 4,722 applications, 1,400 people were selected and trained. There were 92 trainers for eight categories of training in the skill and employment fair. The trainers came from places like Kailali, Kathmandu, Banke, Bardia, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Doti, Surkhet, Nuwakot, Dhading, Bhaktapur, Sindhupalchok.
