An aluminum rod manufacturing company has come into operation at Ramgram-16 Hakuhi in West Nawalparasi. Litmus Industries has set up an industry to manufacture aluminum rods.

Rohit Gupta, executive director of the industry, said that the industry has been set up to produce electrical wires, cables and conductors with the aim of replacing the need to import wires from abroad. Krishna Bahadur Raut, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, inaugurated the industry established with an investment of four billion on Wednesday. He says that products that can be self-sufficient in Nepal should be studied and produced in Nepal. 

He said that the role of the private sector will be important in this matter and the government will create an environment for the industry to operate. Raut said that currently, 8,000 tons of aluminum rods are consumed annually in Nepal and the demand is increasing. It is said that

industry has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of rods. The goal of the industry is to reduce domestic imports and export to foreign countries as well. There are more than 100 workers in the industry spread over an area of ​​15 bighas.
