Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari has said that a replacement bill on cooperatives has been introduced to immediately solve the problems seen in cooperatives.

In the meeting of the National Assembly on Sunday, the minister mentioned that there were irregularities in the Cooperative Act made in 2074, despite being a self-regulating organization. He said that a bill has been introduced to manage it.

He insisted that the Bill was forwarded based on the errors in the Cooperative Act and the instructions given by the Parliamentary Special Inquiry Committee on Cooperatives, the government's agreement with cooperative victims from time to time, suggestions given by various bodies of cooperatives, and international values related to cooperatives.

'Since then, there has been a voice that self-regulation should be made more systematic and there has also been a voice that a regulatory authority should be formed, so this bill has been moved forward. This bill has been introduced to find an immediate solution to the problem based on the errors in the Cooperative Act and the instructions given by the Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on Cooperatives, the agreement made by the government with cooperative victims from time to time, the suggestions given by various bodies of cooperatives, and the international values related to cooperatives, said the minister.
