In the 8 months of the current financial year, Nepal's trade deficit has reached 9 trillion 87 billion 39 billion rupees. According to the Customs Department, the trade deficit has increased by 6.22 percent compared to the same period of the last financial year.

From July to February of the current financial year, Nepal has imported goods worth 11 trillion 45 billion 56 billion 62 million rupees. In the same period last financial year, goods worth 10 trillion 30 billion 222.6 million rupees were imported.

Imports have increased by 11.20 percent in the same period of the current financial year compared to the previous financial year. In the 8 months of the current financial year, Nepal has exported goods worth 1 trillion 58 billion 17 billion 24 lakh rupees. In the same period of the last financial year, goods worth 1.61 billion 74 lakh rupees were exported. 

In the 8th month of the current financial year, the share of exports in trade is 12.13 percent, while the share of imports is 87.87 percent, according to the department's data. During the same period of the last financial year, the share of import in Nepal's trade was 91.10 percent, while the share of export was 8.90 percent.
