The movement to recover the service charge has started at Radisson Hotel in Lazimpat. Under the leadership of the All Nepal Hotel, Casino and Restaurant Workers Association, the organization's deputy secretary general Sudarshan Timalsina said that the awakening campaign for labor rights and rights has been started since Sunday.
Madhav Pandey, the in-charge of the organization, said that since the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court canceled the service fee received by the workers in the hotel and tourism sector since 2006, the organization has been continuously struggling to recover it. Recently, under the leadership of the organization, the workers have started the struggle and awakening campaign in various hotels and restaurants of Kathmandu Valley. Addressing the program of
radio, central president Kumar Pant has called upon all the workers to participate in the sit-in program to be held at Maitigharmandla from Chait 1. He stated that the movement was not against the government or the hotel owners but to restore the lost rights of the workers. Amrita Sapkota, the central secretary of the
organization, stated that even if the court rejected the law, the lost rights could be recovered by making a law, and the workers needed to press for that.
Organization Central Treasurer and Radisson Hotel Unit Committee Chairman Ram Pant urged everyone to join the struggle as the workers are suffering more after the cancellation of service charges in the Hotel Radisson where they are working. Ramhari Bhandari, central member of the
organization and Radisson unit secretary, emphasized that after the cancellation of the service fee, it is difficult for them to live their daily life.
Radisson Unit Committee President of Integrated Socialist Nepal Integrated Hotel, Casino and Restaurant Workers Union Wisansingh Dhami expressed solidarity with the awakening campaign and said that they will also join the struggle.
