149 passengers who were stopped at Bhairahawa flew to Dubai after 16 hours. They flew from Kathmandu on Wednesday night to go to Dubai via Bhairahawa from Nyerobadi of Nepal Airlines Corporation. A deputy director of the Corporation informed that the 149 passengers who were stranded in Bhairahawa were flown by the Corporation's second (Lumbini) Nyrobody from Kathmandu at 3:30 in the afternoon.
Nigam's aircraft that took off from Kathmandu at 10:30 pm on Wednesday night was grounded after breaking down at Bhairahawa.
According to the employees of the Bhairahawa-based corporation, those passengers were kept overnight in 5 hotels in Bhairahawa at the expense of the corporation and were taken to Dubai by another ship on Thursday . The corporation has currently taken landing permission for Kathmandu-Bhairawa-Dubai and Malaysia-Bhairawa-Kathmandu. According to the same schedule, on Wednesday, Nigam's Nyrobody was grounded after landing Bhairahawa from Kathmandu due to a technical problem in the engine. There were no passengers going to Dubai from there on Wednesday night.
The ship that broke down in Bhairahawa was a Nepal Airlines Corporation's Sagarmatha, which was brought from China after spending 66.68 million rupees after five-C-check (repair). The crew and the engineer on board grounded the aircraft at 1:00 pm after the engine over speeding problem (over speed protection indication) was observed.
Since there are only 2 employees of the corporation in Bhairahawa, the employees of the immigration office and Bhairahawa airport office who had gone to their homes at night were called and the passengers were taken to various hotels there till 4 am according to the rules of taking them to the hotel . According to corporation sources, before taking off from Kathmandu, its fuel meter was changed and it was taken off about 2 hours late. The corporation said that the damaged neurobody will be repaired and brought to Kathmandu on Thursday.
