The paper factory established in Mahottari with the investment of President of Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce and Chairman of IME Group Chandra Prasad Dhakal has started operation from today.

IME Group has invested more than 2 billion in the paper factory put into operation by 'Nepal Pulp and Paper Industries Pvt Ltd'. Other Nepali investors have also invested in this industry located in Ramnagar located in Gaushala Municipality 1 of Mahottari.

The foundation of this industry was laid in 2078 and the construction process was completed and production started from December 2081. Chairman Dhakal has said that the industry has set a goal of creating large jobs in the country by substituting imports.

About one and a half million metric tons of paper is being consumed annually in Nepal. He said that since there is no paper industry in Nepal, there is a need to import necessary paper for all jobs, so the private sector is going to invest and advance it.

He said that the paper industry is also important to destroy the comment that there is no investment environment in Nepal. Nepal is in a state of dependence on school, campus copy, photocopy, toilet and tissue paper.

But now with the operation of the industry, the company claims that about 40 percent of the paper required for Nepal will be produced in Nepal in the first year. The industry has claimed to produce high-quality paper in the country by mobilizing indigenous raw materials and manpower.
