Agreement between the government and gas industry, movement stopped

The agitation has been stopped with the five-point agreement made between the government and the gas industry. In a meeting held in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply on Tuesday between Secretary Gobind Bahadur Karki, Nepal Oil Corporation and Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, 5 points were agreed including increasing gas transportation commission by 12 rupees 75 paise.

According to the agreement, the expenses of the former have been increased by 12 rupees 75 paise per cylinder after adjusting the amount of external transportation fare, internal transportation fare, operation and administrative expenses of gas industries. It has also been decided that the corporation will form a sub-committee regarding whether the profit being given to the industrialists will be provided in a flat (lump sum) amount per cylinder or at a certain percentage, and the necessary homework will be done regarding other demands that the corporation cannot address and will be submitted to the board of directors and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply.

Even if the decision to increase the gas transportation commission is made, the corporation claims that it will not affect the selling price of the consumers. "The price of gas per cylinder is Rs 1,910, only the commission of industrialists has increased," said Chandika Prasad Bhatt, the executive director of the corporation.

Corporation is implementing two types of cylinders for commercial and domestic purposes in a month. At the same time, Bhatt said that the price of cylinders consumed for commercial purposes will be adjusted.

They did not raise the product delivery order (PDO) of gas on Sunday saying that the government was not serious about the demand of the gas industry. If the demand is not met, they warned that they will not load from the refinery, do not release bullets from the customs, stop gas sales and distribution and stop sales and distribution of gas from dealers.
