The number of internal and external tourists has been increasing in Bardiya National Park, which has gained fame for its spotted tigers. By January of the current financial year, more than 14,500 domestic and foreign visitors have visited Bardiya Park.

According to the park, 14 thousand 794 tourists have visited. Among them, 10,430 are domestic tourists, 709 from SAARC countries and 3,355 from other countries, according to the park.  Tourist arrivals have been increasing in the

park for the past few years. According to Bardia National Park, 16 thousand 297 tourists visited the park in 2007/079, 24 thousand 398 tourists in 079/080 and 26 thousand 131 tourists in 080/081. A fee of 100 is charged for domestic tourists, 750 for SAARC and 1500 for foreign tourists. 

Senior Chief Conservation Officer Ashok Ram said that most of the tourists who come to Bardia National Park come to see tigers. It is estimated that there are 125 tigers and 120 elephants in the park. There are 38 Gaidas. Some of these rhinos have reached the Katarnia Wildlife Reserve in bordering India, he said. There are more than 30 small and big hotels outside the

park. There are about 20 Dalla homestays among tourists. Apart from this, the tourists who come here can observe the crocodiles in Hata Park, the breeding center of the gadhyayal, the Tharu sanctuary, the sightless rhinoceros and the problem tiger from outside the cage.
