Kailash Rural Municipality of Makwanpur has constructed a zipline to attract tourists. The municipality has invested 88 lakh rupees in the construction of the zipline.
This is the first zipline built by the municipality. Kailash Rural Municipality-2 has constructed a zipline in Kailash. The initial test of the zipline is being conducted soon.
"The work of the zipline has been completed," said Valkumar Malla, the vice president of the rural municipality, "we are conducting tests by bringing in outside zipline-related technicians." Even after the initial tests of the zipline are successful, the rural municipality has informed that it will take some time for regular operation. Infrastructures including toilets are yet to be constructed at the place of going up and down the zipline .
Village Chairman Lok Bahadur Moktan said that a zipline has been constructed to connect the two religious and touristic mountains of Kailash and Baikunth. The construction of the 1200 meter long zipline is being done by Sandhya Construction Services.
2080 Chait 2nd with contract for 88 lakh 56 thousand rupees The contract has been set by the construction company to complete the construction by 30th February 2081 . Although the construction site is geographically remote, the village technician says that it was completed on time.
To study about the regular operation and braking system of the zipline, the village team went to observe the zipline study being conducted in Sarangkot of Kaski. Zipline was operated 4 years ago by the private sector at Makwanpurgarhi in Makwanpur district . It is now closed . The zipline constructed in Kailash Rural Municipality can be reached by vehicle in 2 hours from Manhari Bazar, Chunia of Tribhuvan Rajpath and Shikharkot of Thaha Municipality.
