Jagdullah's contract process started without me being a minister, canceled when not notarized: Energy Minister Khadka

Energy Minister Deepak Khadka has said that the contract process of Jagdulla project has started without going to the ministry and it has been canceled before. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Energy Minister Khadka said that the contract of 106 MW hydropower project was canceled last time because it was not notarized.

"The contract process of the Jagdulla project was started without my presence, even then the contract was canceled within two to four days," he said, "I asked why it was canceled even then, the contractors could not go to the project site during the rainy season and I received the cancellation information." "Projects are started by corruption through check exchange. The Maoist leadership has been running the Ministry of Energy since 8 years ago. Whatever they have done, this is how it is done," he said.

Khadka says that if an honorable minister is accused, the effect on the society should also be taken into consideration. "If you prove that the checks have been exchanged, I am ready to walk with the bag behind them," he added, "I am not a minister, I am ready to resign from the position of MP and walk with the bag." Seven companies including High Himalayan Hydro and JV of AGE Company, Zhongding International, Patel Engineering, Lama Construction applied for the contract. But the Jagdulla company claims that the contract was canceled after none of the companies passed the technical proposal.

Minister of Energy in Jagdulla  Khadka is accused of mediating the agreement by sidelining all the companies that applied and giving the contract to High Himalaya Hydro Construction and AGE. The authority is investigating the transaction in which the company that won the contract of 16 billion gave 15/15 million to the other four companies at the rate of 1/1 percent and gave 2 percent to the minister.
