Cable car promotes identity and historicity: Dhakal

The Chairman of Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce has said that the cable car to be built in Pathibhara will promote identity. He, who is also the chairman of Pathibhara Devi Darshan Cable Car Pvt. Ltd., told a press conference held in Kathmandu on Saturday that the construction of the project has started to accelerate with the entry of IME Group into Pathibhara Cable Car two years ago.

"It seems that misinformation has been spread on social media saying that when a cable car is built in Pathibhara, the historicity and identity of the temple will be lost," he said.

Dhakal said that people who live outside the district or outside the country now have an unnatural interest in saying that they should not become cable cars on social media. "We are close to the project construction site and the sentiments and needs of Taplejung district residents as a whole," he said, "We are fully aware of the needs of the locals." It is not good to see such debate in development work. Such acts discourage private investment in the country in the future.'

Dhakal also says that it is sad that the work is not allowed to proceed after all the legal and regulatory procedures have been completed by the state agencies. "The cable car is only a means of transport," he said, "which facilitates the pilgrims going to see Pathibhara Devi." As Pathibhara Devi is the heritage of faith of all Nepalese, the construction of cable car here will not affect any religion, caste or ritual culture and the current structure, but it will help to strengthen it.

President Dhakal said that a cable car will be 2.75 km long from Fungling Municipality 11, Kaflepati to about 700 meters west of Pathibhara Devi temple complex in Taplejung, and it will have 36 passenger carriers and two gondolas for transporting goods.

"After the construction of the cable car, it will take a total of 10 minutes and 31 seconds to reach from the lower station to the upper station," he said, "all the equipment and parts of the cable car will be used by the world famous cable car company."
