National Independent Party MP Sumana Shrestha has said that the government should listen to the voices of youth and content creators who are opposing the social media bill in the House of Representatives on Thursday. He is of the opinion that the protest started on social media and the objections of content creators should be considered immediately.

"Content creators are raising their voices that there is dictatorship, a bill has been introduced that violates freedom of speech, the government should listen to their voices," Shrestha said, "When bills are made, are they discussed with those for whom they are made?" It has been confirmed that it will not be done.'

She questioned whether the government listens to them only when the youth surrounds Maitghar Mandla or vandalizes public property or does it listen to the voice of the people at other times as well. She called the content creators of social media and asked the government to understand the basic aspects of digital space, personal branding and content creation.

'Call the content creator brothers and sisters and understand, ask them what is content creation, how identity is created on social media, how personal branding is done,' she said, 'This bill has been brought without understanding even such simple things.' Shrestha said that the bill should be looked at above party interests and urged all parliamentarians to raise the voice of the youth in parliament.
