Mukesh Ambani to join forces with Nvidia to build world's largest data center

Reliance Industries chairman and Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani is going to build the world's largest AI data center. Bloomberg reports that Ambani is going to build a huge data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat in partnership with American chip maker Nvidia. It is expected to contribute significantly to India's entry into the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

During the Nvidia AI conference in October last year, Reliance announced a partnership to buy Nvidia's Semiconductor chip. Indian media reported that Nvidia will provide its advanced Blackwell AI processors for Reliance's three gigawatt capacity data center. Both Nvidia's chief Johnson Huang and Reliance's Ambani have pointed out that there is more potential in India for the development of AI at the local level.

The largest data centers in the world currently operate in China and the US. Its capacity is less than one gigawatt. China Telecom's data center in China's Inner Mongolia Information Park is considered the world's largest. This data center is spread over an area of 1 crore 7 lakh 6 thousand square feet. 3 billion dollars were invested to make it . It is said to have more than 50,000 servers and consume 150 megawatts of electricity.

Reliance has tried to develop AI techniques, supercomputers and large language models suitable for different languages in India . A data center is about to be constructed for this. The Indian government has also committed to invest more than 10,000 crores to promote AI startups and projects.
