After Indira Sugar Mill did not pay the dues of the sugarcane farmers on time, Pratappur Rural Municipality has sent a letter to give immediate payment.

After the farmer complained that the industry in Pratappur rural municipality-8 bought sugarcane on loan from the farmer and did not pay since the beginning of this year, the head of the municipality wrote to the farmer to pay the outstanding amount immediately. 

President of Pratappur Rural Municipality and President of Sugarcane Growers Kisan Samiti Lumbini Province, Umeshchandra Yadav said that while other sugar factories in the district have paid in ten days, Indira Sugar Mill has not paid at all this season.

The farmers, who have been facing problems for years due to the industry not paying them on time, got a problem again when Indira Sugar Mill did not pay them on time, Yadav said, We have requested to start payment immediately. If the industry refuses, we will proceed with the process according to the prevailing law.' In the district, Indira, Lumbini, Wagmati Khandsari and Tattva Firma Pvt Ltd are doing sugarcane crushing this year. Farmers are complaining that Indira Sugar Mill is delaying payment even though other industries are paying from time to time.
