The Ministry of Finance has instructed the stakeholders to suspend the programs that are being operated with American subsidies. Mahesh Bhattarai, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, said that the instructions have been issued to all concerned stakeholders.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Monday, Spokesperson Bhattarai asked for the suspension of the USAID-funded program in four areas, namely health, education, agriculture and inclusive policy.

'From the grant aid received by Nepal through the agreement signed on May 5, 2022 between USAID and the government of Nepal, four projects of the nature of being paid from the accumulated fund through the budget system, respectively, the grant aid received in the projects of health, agriculture, education and inclusive policy, USAID Nepal immediately suspended for 90 days. It has been informed through a letter," the statement of the Ministry of Finance said, "All related parties shall not create any liability towards the USAID source under the project suspended during this 90-day period. The agencies have been informed.'
