According to the customs department, the export of cement and clinker has decreased by 22 percent in the same period of the current financial year compared to the six months of the last financial year.
Cement and clinker worth 1 billion 76 crore 33 lakh 10 thousand rupees have been exported from July to December last financial year. According to the department, Cement worth Rs 8835 lakh 90 thousand and clinker worth Rs 4954 lakh 76 thousand have been exported in six months of the current financial year.
In the six months of the current financial year, 4 lakh 49 thousand 351 tons of cement and 4 lakh 54 thousand 622 tons of clinker have been exported. 2 lakh 22 thousand 117 tons in 6 months of the last financial year Clicker and 14 lakh 50 thousand 250 tons of cement were exported.
Indian agency BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) has made quality certificates mandatory for all imported cement and clinker. That is why some industries have not been renovated and even the new industries could not get the certificate, so the industrialists say that exports have decreased.
