Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested all district and city Chamber of Commerce and Industry and all its members to implement the decision of Nepal government to make the use of indigenous products compulsory in public bodies.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation, said that at the request of the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, the passing of the "Guidelines for the use of indigenous products in public bodies 2081" by the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers on 28th of May 2081 is welcome and now it should be implemented effectively.

The government has made arrangements to make maximum use of the growth tools available at the local level by using the rights given by Section 68 of the Industrial Business Act, 2076. In order to promote the production of indigenous goods, job creation, import management and the market of manufactured goods and to make the use of indigenous goods in public bodies more effective, the government has issued "Guidelines on the use of indigenous goods in public bodies - 2081".

Believing that this decision of the government will greatly help in promoting indigenous products, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry urges all its members to use and promote Nepali products as much as possible. President Dhakal claims that this decision of the government will help a lot in promoting indigenous production.
