The participants of the national meeting of the businessmen affiliated to the Federation of Nepal Construction Professionals have emphasized that the sick contract should be terminated on the basis of the details.

In the meeting that lasted until late on Saturday night, the suggestions of construction professionals from all over the country were collected on the excessive price increase and black market in construction materials including cement, lack of payment, cancellation of concessions received from the National Bank, management of sick contracts.  More than 400 construction professionals from 7 state federations, 64 districts and associates participated in the

meeting. Addressing the gathering, Ravi Singh, President of the Federation of Nepal Construction Professionals, said that the construction industry is in great shape.

The construction industry has suffered due to non-payment of arrears due to the work done by construction professionals, said President Singh President Singh said that since there is no alternative to a decisive movement against the government's indifference towards the construction industry, which plays an important role, and the non-payment of work done, a national meeting has been called to prepare for it. Chairman Singh claims that the construction industry is problematic because of the arbitrariness of the political leadership and bureaucracy.

Adviser and former president of the federation, Ramesh Sharma, claimed that even though loans were agreed with the government in the past, the problem has increased in the construction industry. Sukuntlal Hirachan, Jairam Lamichhane, advisers and former presidents of the federation, said that due to the government's attitude, the environment in which construction professionals work in the country has ended. Nicholas Pandey, the adviser of the federation, opined that many problems of the construction industry can be solved through legal means, so attention should be paid to that.  The demand of the builders to terminate the sick contract on the basis of details

Senior Vice President Engineer Ang Dorjee Lama (AD) accused the state of being indifferent to the implementation of past agreements and said that low-bidding has also caused many problems in the construction industry. Presenting a nine-point working paper at the

meeting, Roshan Dahal, the general secretary of the federation, said that the problem of extension of time created by the thirteenth amendment of the public procurement regulations should be ended, contracts that are sick due to various reasons should be terminated on the basis of details, actions against the principles of natural justice against the construction industry should be ended, and the problems of the construction industry should be resolved. He said that the Public Procurement Act and Regulations should be rewritten immediately.

Dahal had put forward the demand that the agreement made with the government in the past should be implemented and that a high-level commission on construction should be formed. Speaking at the meeting, the participants from different districts expressed their solidarity on the nine points of the federation's working paper and expressed the opinion that all kinds of construction professionals should unite and move towards solving the problem.
