Upendra Paudyal has been re-elected as the president of Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBIFIN). The fifth general assembly of CIBIF on Friday unanimously elected the leadership in all positions, including the president, except the secretary.

According to this, 16 out of 17 members of the Cibifin Working Committee were unanimous. Paudyal was also the president of the confederation. 

But the election has been held for the post of secretary. Thaneshwar Paudel, chairman of Sign Resunga Development Bank and Mahendra Kumar Goyal, chairman of Excel Development Bank, competed for the post, in which Paudel won by getting 32 votes while Goyal got 23 votes. 55 people voted in the confederation out of a total of 76 voters.

The general meeting has elected a new working committee under the leadership of Poudel, in which Rajesh Upadhyay, chairman of Mahalakshmi Bikas Bank, has been re-elected as the senior vice-chairman. Kushaprasad Malli, chairman of Reliance Finance, and Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of Himalayan Bank, as general secretary were unanimously elected as vice president.

Among the other posts that have been unanimously approved, NIC Asia Bank Chairman Tulsiram Agarwal, Gorkha Finance's Gaurav Budhathoki have been unanimously elected as co-treasurer.

members include Rajaram Khadka of Kumari Bank, Balgopal Vaidya of Everest Bank, Leelaprakash Sitaula of Prabhu Bank, Manoj Kumar Goyal of NMB Bank, Chandra Bahadur Adhikari of Nepal Bank, Radhesh Pant of Global IME Bank, Raman Nepal of Lakshmi Sunrise Bank, Sudeep Acharya of Kamna Seva Vikas Bank, Lumbini Vikas Chintamani Bhattarai of Bank and Lakshmi Prasad Maharjan of Progressive Finance were unanimous. The tenure of the new working committee will be two years.
