The economic activity study of Rashtra Bank has shown that the industries operating in Karnali province were operating at 48.51 percent capacity utilization in the last financial year. Compared to the previous financial year, the capacity utilization of the industry has decreased in the last financial year.  In the previous financial year, such capacity utilization of industries was 52.29 percent.

According to the report, in the last fiscal year, the utilization capacity of the plastic goods industry was the highest at 100 percent. During the same period, the report pointed out that the utilization capacity of the flour production industry under grain and animal feed was 15 percent  .

Similarly, paper production 9, wood and wood products 53, other food products (processed tea) 51.11, other (other clothing) 48.94 and among the livestock production industries, rice production industry 41.67, processed milk production industry 21.23 and utilization capacity of livestock industry is 16.67 percent.

It seems that large industries are not able to operate in this province due to major reasons such as lack of infrastructure, skilled manpower, lack of raw materials and difficult geographical structure for industrial development.

Among the domestic, small and medium industries, some industries have been taken as sample selection in the study. In the year under review, among the industries included in the sample selection in Karnali Province, there has been an increase in the production of most of the industries, while there has been no change in the production of processed tea and plastic.

Similarly, there seems to be a decrease in sawn wood production. It is seen that the production of processed milk has increased by 3.33 percent. Among the grain and animal feed producing industries, the production of rice, wheat flour and animal feed has increased by 66.67 percent, 28.57 percent and 15.38 percent respectively.

Similarly, in the year under review, there has been a decrease of 15.0 percent and 12.50 percent in the production of other textiles and paper and paper under the heading of textiles.
