Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has said that the problems seen in the construction of the Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhesh Expressway (Fast Track) will not be allowed to continue.
Minister Dahal said on Saturday that the problems and challenges seen during the inspection from the starting point of the expressway from Khokna to Fasidol through Bungmati will be resolved.
'This fast track is a lifeline connecting Tarai and Kathmandu', Minister Dahal said during the inspection, 'Some challenges have been seen regarding maintaining its starting point, but these issues should not be allowed to be prolonged, solutions should be sought from all agencies.'
Minister Dahal said that the government is aware that no one's faith should be attacked during the construction and expansion of the road.
Fast track will not only facilitate the movement of the general public but also promote Nepal's foreign trade, he said, and it is taken as a basis for building a prosperous Nepal.
He emphasized that it is necessary to speed up its construction by solving the issues of compensation distribution, compensation, mohi and guthi etc.
Minister Dahal was briefed by Major Ramesh Acharya of the Nepali Army about the status, challenges and options of fast track construction. The work on the Khokna section of the fast track, which has a distance of 70.977 km, has not yet started. The distance of the section is 6.5 km. So far, the contract has not been concluded due to compensation disputes.
